cassis is French for blackcurrant and is used often as a tasting note for red wines, particularly red wines based on Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Dry white wine mixed with some blackcurrant liqueur is known as both a vin blanc cassis and kir (while red wine mixed with blackcurrant liqueur is sometimes called a cardinal).
