Euvitis, considered by many botanists to be one of two sections of the genus vitis (see botanical classification), the other being muscadinia. These two are considered to be two separate genera by others, since Euvitis and Muscadinia vines differ in chromosome number and in appearance. All of the commercially important wine, table, and drying grapes belong to the genus Euvitis.
