Foil Cutter

foil cutter, gadget for serving wine which helps cut the foil neatly just below the lip of the bottle with the advantages that this avoids unsightly and possibly dangerous torn metal edges, and that there is no likelihood of the wine’s being poured over a foil which might taint it. Some foil cutters are blades incorporated into corkscrews; others are separate prongs with small circular blades which cut the foil when rotated. Life without a foil cutter is quite feasible; living without one after being introduced to it is not.
