  • About

German term for an interplanting or field blend of multiple grape varieties, and by implication for a wine made from the co-fermentation of fruit from such plantings. Once common, such plantings are now rare throughout the German-speaking world, with the exception of Vienna where, although a distinct minority, in 2013 they became the basis for that urban growing region’s dac known as wiener gemischter satz.
