Homer, writer(s) in Ancient greece of the two epic poems: the Iliad (telling the story of Achilles and the Trojan wars) and the Odyssey (the return of Odysseus from Troy to his home, Ithaca, and his adventures on the way). Homeric poems are usually dated to the 8th century bc and wine features regularly in both books. See also classical texts.
