Jacquère is the most planted white grape variety in savoie, where it produces high yields of lightly scented, essentially alpine dry white. Plantings were a steady 983 ha/2,428 acres in 2011.
Late ripening and relatively hardy, it has also been successfully grown for igp blends in some condrieu and other northern Rhône vineyards, and is found further south.
