19th-century English term for málaga, which is indeed flanked by mountains. The name is no longer used (excepy by Spain’s roving winemaker Telmo Rodriguez for his sweet golden Málaga) but is commonly found on decanter labels produced before phylloxera devastated the Málaga region in 1876.
