Pecorino, vine speciality of the Marche and Abruzzo on Italy’s east coast that has made a varietal comeback because of its firm, dry, minerally white wine that compares well with the local Trebbiano. Total area planted grew from 87 ha in 2000 to over 1,110 ha/2,740 acres by 2010. Also a Calabrian synonym for greco bianco.
