Piedirosso, one of campania’s relatively few red wine grapes, very much in second place after aglianico, It is grown around Naples and on the islands of ischia and Capri. Also known as Per’e Palummo and Palombina, it can make fresh, fruity reds but total plantings had declined to under 700 ha/1,730 acres by 2010.
