Rootstock characteristics: Lime tolerance

Both V. vinifera and V. berlandieri contribute tolerance to the soils high in limestone common in Burgundy and Champagne. Rootstocks acknowledged to have the highest lime tolerance are 41 B, 333 EM, and the more recently bred Fercal.
