Rootstock characteristics: Salt tolerance

The chloride component of salty soils can be toxic (see salinity). The V. berlandieri species is considered tolerant, but Australian research has found the V. champini rootstock Ramsey to be quite tolerant. V. vinifera is also tolerant.
