Rossese, name given to at least seven distinct north west Italian grape varieties, making both red and white wines in Italy where the 2010 vine census found only 7 ha/17 acres of ‘Rossese Bianco’ and 312 ha/770 acres of ‘Rossese Nero’. Rossese di Dolceaqua is the best known. This esteemed red grape variety produces distinctively perfumed varietal wines in the north west Italian region of liguria.
