Sauvignon Gris, sometimes blended with sauvignon blanc, sometimes sold as a varietal, is another name for Sauvignon Rose and has discernibly pink skins. It can produce more substantial wines than many a Sauvignon Blanc, and is increasingly specified as an authorized grape variety in aoc regulations, notably in Bordeaux and the Loire. It is also planted in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and New Zealand. See also fié.
