  • About

Russian vine variety developed at the All-Russia Potapenko Institute from a Précoce de Malingre seedling with a member of the famously cold-hardy vitis amurensis vine species native to Mongolia. Severny means ‘northern’ and is a suffix of several crosses such as saperavi Severny and cabernet severny specifically bred for harsh winter climates.
