Soil and Wine Quality

The soil has many attributes that can influence the vine grown in it, and thence the quality and character of both grapes and wine. Quite how influential these attributes are remains a matter of debate, with a fairly marked but fast-decreasing divergence between the old world and new world, if not of opinion, then of interpretation.
