  • About

Sulfur is essential for vine nutrition, although sulfur deficiency in vineyards is very rare. Vines usually obtain sufficient quantities from soil supplies, or from fungicides. Continued application of sulfur to vineyards to control powdery mildew for over a century has led to excess soil acidity in many European vineyards. Sometimes periodic liming may be needed to counter soil acidification. See also sulfide.
