Symphony, white-berried vine cross of red-skinned Grenache and Muscat of Alexandria developed in california at davis by Dr H. P. Olmo. It has lived the tenuous existence of all crosses, especially ones that make powerfully aromatic wines, although in the early 1990s it enjoyed a small vogue as an off-dry table wine something like a malvasia Bianca, and a flurry of new plantings in 2010 brought the state total to 1,600 acres/648 ha in 2012.
