Tinta Miúda, ‘small red one’, Portuguese red wine grape grown traditionally around lisbon but now found in estremadura. The vine is low-yielding but can produce seductive and powerful wines. Identical to the graciano of Rioja and morrastel of the Languedoc, it ripens late and is susceptible to rot but is valued by winemakers for the colour and acidity it contributes to a blend. There were 290 ha/716 acres in Portugal in 2012.
