Tressot, ancient red grape variety of Burgundy, already described in the 14th century along with pinot noir. Tressot is exclusively cultivated in the Yonne (chablis country) where it has now almost disappeared. dna profiling at davis suggested, unexpectedly, that Tressot is a natural cross between duras and petit verdot. Confusingly, it is also a Burgundian name for the Jura’s (unrelated) trousseau vine.
