Triomphe (d’Alsace)

Triomphe (d’Alsace), hybrid bred by Kuhlmann in Alsace from knipperlé and a riparia-rupestris american vine. It has good resistance to mildew but the wine produced, however deep coloured, tastes foxy. The vine is responsible for some English reds.
