  • About

vigne is French for a vine, and sometimes vineyard. Vigneron is French for a vine-grower, or for someone who is both grower and winemaker, whereas a viticulteur merely grows vines. The term vigneron is now used widely outside France for a wide range of people engaged in wine production.

A vignoble is French for a vineyard, although the term vignoble can be used more broadly as in ‘the entire French vignoble’.
