I hated raspberries, associating the fruit with the fake sugary flavor found in raspberry candy. But then I tried thimbleberries, which I picked off the side of a small road while riding my bike, and the tartness became my go-to mid-bike-ride snack. (Huckleberries were also a favorite, and also grew on the side of the road.)
