MICROS ARE A REAL TRIUMPH of flavour and pleasure over heft. Grown to just 5-6cm, with only the first leaves showing, they have an intensity of flavour far beyond their fully-grown selves.
Rocket, radish, fennel and coriander, in particular, are the ones I grow most of. Each has its own characteristic flavour, yet more intense and cleaner as a micro than at the size it’s usually harvested.
