  • About

That same year, Dadi’s cancer returned aggressively, and she was in and out of the hospital. She was so delicate and frail; the chemotherapy was making her disappear. For someone who loved cooking and food, it was a painful irony that she was unable to eat solid food. Tins of ‘The Original Nurishment’ liquid food were piled high on the shelves where she used to keep her paandan. She was tube-fed these meal replacements for weeks, and the choice of strawberry, chocolate and vanilla was wearing her patience thin, but at least they gave her some energy and she was able to talk for short periods of time.
