One hundred years ago Da Laudomia was a small posting inn (called Locanda Butelli after the present owner’s grand-parents) where tired travellers stopped to eat, change horses and buy anything from trousers to home-made sweets. The store and the horses have gone, but Da Laudomia remains much the same (despite the change of name and the present patronne, Clara Detti, can tell you more about the history & the practice of Maremman cooking than can be found in any book on the subject.
