Select a flexible plastic cover that fits your container. Plastic wrap won’t be secure enough.
Leave the lid slightly ajar to let carbon dioxide (CO2) gas escape. Under a tight-fitting lid, CO2 may build up pressure and force the lid open. Physical contaminants can then fall into the container.
