Finger Burners

You weren’t very good at line fishing, but we’ll make up for it with some fishing by hand. Today we’re preparing for a veritable shellfish hunt.

Knives, gloves, flippers, yabby pump nothing is left to chance. We need to forget the humiliation of the first week, when the by-word was ‘empty-handed’! You spot a few well-watered rocks by the sea, to which mussels are clinging en masse. You divide the labour: one in the water to pick them from the bunch, one on the rock to collect and clean the booty, and you start to get back a little credibility.
