This book is about the easiest, most trouble-free and fun route to some of the finest homemade drinks you could wish for. But be warned – there will be purists out there who might nit-pick over a few of our methods. Certain craft beer advocates might insist you boil your beery mix for hours; wine boffins may demand precise, temperature-controlled storing conditions for your bottles of wine; and certain ‘traditionalist’ sections of the (hard) cider-making fraternity may consider the addition of other fruits and flavours to cider a terrible sin. If you like a drink style and want to get deeper under its skin or turn it into a career, by all means seek out more specialist advice.
