Spencer Metzger is yet to have his breakthrough moment but he has already achieved an incredible amount at the age of 28. He won The Roux Scholarship in 2019 and in 2022 won the Great British Menu prize and cooked two of the final dishes. Like Clare Smyth he has spent the majority of his career under one chef — in his case that’s John Williams at The Ritz Hotel. Metzger is now head chef of the 1 Michelin star Ritz Restaurant.
