In 1928, seventeen-year-old Vincent Price took his first trip to Europe. He had been saving money for three years. It was his goal to see all of the great works of art and the cultural capitals of the world, about which he had been reading and studying for the last ten years of his life.

You see, my dad became an art and culture lover at the tender age of eight, when his older sister left behind a book containing illustrations of the great masterpieces of world art. He pored over that art tome every day from then on—and became determined to live a life that would allow him to spend time in the company of as much great art and culture as he could!
