Esin worked for 27 years in information technology. Although her career was intense and busy, she enjoyed cooking as a hobby. As the years went by, she grew more and more interested in starting a business of her own — and after retiring in 2016, she decided to return to school to learn all she could about not only cooking, but the technical skills needed to run a food business. She completed apprenticeships in cooking and pastry, as well as trainings in cakes and food hygiene, all in preparation to start her own catering company. The Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey (KAGIDER) introduced Esin to the LIFE Project, where she was able to connect with other entrepreneurs and deepen her understanding of the food business climate. She now runs a catering company called 1DK Events and specializes in preparing food for private dinners, birthday parties, and other celebrations. Esin was born in İzmit, Turkey.
