Shathaa is a practical, open-minded cook, always eager for feedback and keen to adjust and adapt her recipes with feedback from others. These qualities will serve her well as she works to start a catering business that specializes in cuisine from Iraq, her home country. Shathaa is from Mosul and studied linguistics at the University of Baghdad; she moved to Turkey in 2016 with her husband and three children. They first settled in Mersin, in the south, and then moved to Istanbul when their daughter started attending a university there. In addition to her catering plans, Shathaa dreams of writing a cookbook of her own.
