Born in 1957 to the house of Tsukiji Tamura, Takashi Tamura is the family’s eldest son. After graduating from university he trained at the famous ryotei, Koraibashi Kitcho in Osaka. Then, three years later, he returned to the main branch of Tsukiji Tamura. Whilst he still works on the front line in the kitchen, he has also appeared on TV cookery programmes, taught at culinary schools, and published cookery books, all the while championing the cause of food for ordinary people.
