Starting a Fire with Lump Charcoal

Another fuel source I enjoy using is lump charcoal, which creates a very even and clean heat without lots of ash or soot. Although both lump charcoal and briquettes are great fuel sources, I prefer lump charcoal because it generally provides a better flavor and is conducive to achieving higher temperatures. I also recommend getting a charcoal chimney (they are typically inexpensive)! Although you could try creating a fire with a mound of charcoal in your grill, a chimney makes starting that fire much easier.
