Origins. My family’s culinary tradition began withmy grandparents, Éléonore and Gaston, who were both professional chefs. My grandmother worked for the Rothschild family and was one of the first female chefs in France, while my grandfather was chef saucier at the historic Grand Hotel in Paris. I’m so proud of them.

After working for several years in Paris, my grandfather’s health deteriorated, and my grandparents were forced to leave the capital. They returned to their native Normandy, where they bought a modest farmhouse in Bernay. My father, Gaston, was born there in 1920, followed by his brother Marcel a year later.
