Many games can (if not should) be played in teams, which allows good flexibility with regard to number of players, so you can play with as few as two or as many as a dozen. For gatherings with much more than a dozen guests, I recommend you plan on a few games from the previous lists to be played concurrently. Even the best party game played in a large group can get a little clunky.
