I’ve grown up with very traditional home cooking, so when I went vegan in 2014 I was determined not to give up my favourite childhood meals. At the time, vegans were still seen as part of the hippy subculture, who lived off a diet of salads, falafel and hummus. As much as I love those foods, I missed full English breakfasts, stews and – most importantly – scones! These were one of the first recipes I veganised, and from there I found ways to bring my beloved British eats back into my diet again.
