Rhubarb Tours

Oldroyd’s are one of the main growers of Yorkshire forced rhubarb and every season offer the chance to learn more about this wonderful industry and to visit the candlelight forcing sheds.

The visit starts with refreshments followed by a talk on the ancient history of rhubarb, how and why it was used as a medicine, how we came to eat rhubarb, and how the forcing process was discovered. There is then a fascinating tour of the forcing sheds to discuss the process and how it works.
