Due south from Malaysia is the continent of Australia, an island continent located in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. It is both a country and a continent and has 16,000 miles of coastline. The Great Barrier Reef, the largest reef in the world, is located there. Its large desert area is known as the “Outback.” The country is multicultural and over 25 percent of the Australian population are immigrants. It is the home of the koala bear and the kangaroo.
