The celebration known as Sagra dell’Asparago (Asparagus Feast), which dates back to 1940, is one of the region’s main gastronomic events. For 4 days, the town of Cantello offers asparagus tasting, and local restaurants create a range of special asparagus-based dishes.
In June and September, the Pizzoccheri Festival takes place in Teglio. Pizzoccheri is a pasta shape similar to tagliatelle and is made of buckwheat. It is usually cooked with vegetables and served in broth, topped with butter and cheese.
