One of the most famous festivals in Piedmont is the Truffle Festival of Alba, celebrated in October and November. This event has been running for more than 75 years and draws chefs from around the world. During the festival, the wholesale truffle market opens to the public so people can inspect, and even buy, the delicious white truffles.
The Raschera and Brus Cheese Festival is held at Frabosa Soprana in August. Raschera cheese has an ivory colour and a delicate flavour, which becomes quite pungent when it is left to mature. Brus is a fermented cheese made from both cow’s and sheep’s milk, with a very strong flavour, and is particularly sought after by gourmets.
