  • About
Individual traditions attached to weddings vary tremendously from one place to another in Italy, but the occasion is always as grand as possible and no expense is spared. Wedding feasts often involve many hours of celebratory dining at the table with a long succession of antipasti, pasta, meat and fish courses, desserts, and finally the wedding cake. All of this is washed down with copious quantities of wine and many opportunities to raise a glass to the happy couple with a brindisi (toast). Guests always expect to go home with a bomboniera, a little package of sugared almonds with a small present attached - there is usually one for each person.
