  • About
The second-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea (after Sicily), Sardinia is hot and dry in summer, while spring and autumn are pleasant. Winters are mild and humid with the occasional hot day. The island is surrounded by the Mediterranean and its long coastline sees plenty of sun. The terrain is not easy for farmers, with high hills and mountains inland. Agriculture tends to focus on livestock and growing tender crops, such as olives, citrus fruits and grapes. Fish is also plentiful in the surrounding waters and forms an important part of the diet.
