  • About
Puglia is the heel of Italy’s boot, bordered by Molise, Campania and Basilicata, and facing Croatia, Greece, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Albania and Montenegro across the Adriatic. It has the longest coastline of any of Italy’s regions, and is famous for its white-washed towns, conical trulli and centuries-old farmlands. Stretching for 400km (250 miles) from north to south, for centuries this area held a strong strategic position, and as such was colonised, invaded and conquered by just about every major power of the day, from the Greeks to the Spanish.
