Serving Mussels on the Half Shell

Once the mussels have been steamed open, the shells can be used as containers for stuffing. Serve the prepared mussels in their shells on a large dish.
Steam large mussels until they open. Discard one shell, remove the mussel from the remaining shell and pull off the rubbery ring surrounding it. Replace the mussel in the shell for serving.
