Testing when Bread is Done

The standard test for yeast bread is to take the loaf from the pan and tap the bottom. If it sounds hollow, it is cooked. As for the color, it should be well-browned on the bottom, sides and top.
Remove the loaf from the pan. Turn it upside down and tap the bottom with your knuckles. The bread should sound hollow. Press the sides, which should feel crisp and firm.
