“We see consumers getting more discerning and curious about where their food comes from and our vision is to continue to make high quality cheese with the best possible ingredients, using skills that have been honed for over 40 years.”

Nestled in the beautiful valley overlooking the River Dart in South Devon, Sharpham is the realisation of Maurice and Ruth Ash’s vision, which began with the slump in milk prices during the 1970s, prompting Maurice to find a way to make his favourite cheese. He moved his herd of Jersey cows from Essex to Devon by train, employed Isa Caroll to set up the dairy in the old stables and started to perfect the making of Sharpham Brie.
