“I’m not sure there’s ever been a more exciting time to be in this industry than right now, standing as we are on the verge of a fourth agricultural revolution.”
I come from a very long line of farmers. My family have farmed in this area of Wales since at least the early 1700s, and probably further back than that. I suppose you could say that this way of life, and the very land itself, is in my DNA. In recent years we’ve found artefacts including a Roman coin and a medieval silver brooch in some of our fields, which suggests that food has been produced here for at least two thousand years. It gives me a powerful feeling that I’m part of something important; that I’m just this farm’s present custodian, holding it in trust for the next generation.
