“Many of us consider fish and seafood a treat, or perhaps a dish that we tend to eat more when we are abroad. British seafood is not only a healthy choice but, if managed properly, can be a sustainable choice too.”
Having spent the majority of my career sailing seas around the world, I have been fortunate enough to have experienced and enjoyed some beautiful coastlines. In 2006 I became the first woman to sail solo around the world the wrong way, non-stop. Following my 6th place finish in the Vendée Globe 2008/9, I entered the record books once again to become the first woman to sail solo and non-stop around the globe in both directions. As skipper of ‘Turn the Tide on Plastic’ - a mixed, youth focused team with a strong sustainability message – I completed my sixth lap of the planet on the Volvo Ocean Race 2017/18.
