Although as an industry, bartending is inextricably linked to the restaurant world, until recently the making and crafting of drinks has worked in a very different way. Drinks industry icons might not be as famous as the household-name chefs (yet…), but the two industries and the ideas behind their primary role – to serve up a great gustatory experience – are becoming more in sync, as drinks customers are starting to be more discerning and bartenders look to restaurants to learn about flavour and ingredients.
